Starting in April 2025, our radio development team in Dresden offers an opportunity for an

Intern (m/f/d): Software Defined Radio - Application and Demo Development

We have radio equipment and development tools - you help us show others what they are capable of. Whether it’s a receiver algorithm or a neat graphical user interface - you program the radio demo that gets others as excited about software defined radios as we are.

Now, there is a demo, and nobody knows about it. What a shame! But we’re not worried– you are a creative mind with tons of ideas on how to create demo videos for social media or physical demo setups for conferences and fairs.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Depending on interests and prior experience you are either working in one or both of the following areas:

  • Developing radio application examples, e.g., in Python or GNU Radio, using NIs USRPs (software defined radios). Extension to FPGA programming is an option
  • Creating demo videos for social media, demo setups and posters for conferences

Who You Are:

  • You are passionate about wireless technology and signal processing and like to learn and work with the latest software defined radio techniques and equipment.
  • You enjoy sharing and imparting knowledge.
  • You are a creative mind with tons of ideas on how to create demos and videos.

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • Academic studies in Electrical Engineering, Information System Technology, Media Computer Science or comparable field of studies (from 4th semester)
  • Basic understanding and interest in digital signal processing and wireless communications
  • Presentation mindset – you care about getting others excited about content and you know how to do that
  • You have already developed applications in Python or C++ or similar (Verilog is a plus but no must)
  • You have created videos that get the message through
  • Good command of spoken and written English and/or German
  • Compulsory internship (internship duration: 4 - 6 months)

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • You are a radio enthusiast who has already developed applications using SDRs
  • Your social media profile or video references speak for themselves
