Brief description

"International Management Studies in the Baltic Sea Region (BMS)" is an internationally oriented Bachelor's degree course with a special focus on the Baltic Sea region. The business administration course, which is taught exclusively in English, leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree after eight semesters.

In addition to comprehensive management and methodological skills, the course also teaches social and intercultural skills. Great importance is also attached to a high level of language qualification. Learning a second foreign language (Norwegian, Polish or Swedish) is compulsory. International students take German as a foreign language.

The study program is divided into four semesters of undergraduate and four semesters of postgraduate studies. By the end of the fourth semester, basic business and economic content of international business management is taught. In addition, students are trained to think and act interculturally - and gain an insight into maritime transportation and sustainability in the Baltic Sea region.
In the 5th and 6th semesters, emphasis is placed on developing core skills in the four areas of international management, finance and foreign trade, marketing, taxation and law. The course concludes with a Bachelor's thesis in economics.

Excursions

A stay abroad, either as a practical semester or study semester, is obligatory for this degree course. Excursions are used for the exchange of ideas and discussions with professionals from the leisure and tourism industry. In this way, you will become directly familiar with the practical tasks and problem areas of tourism and gain an insight into various business areas - both nationally and internationally. During the excursions, you will explore opportunities for internships and thesis topics and make valuable professional contacts. This gives you the chance to apply the knowledge you have acquired during your studies directly
and perhaps even secure your dream job at the end of your studies.

In short, the excursions uniquely combine the three target competencies of the degree course: professional, social and language skills. And in the end, every trip is a unique experience.

You also have the opportunity to gain a second Bachelor's degree at selected partner universities abroad.
