Job Description
Scionics is looking for a Full Stack Developer to add to its product development team. As a member of this team, you will use Python, TypeScript, MariaDB as well as FastAPI and KnockoutJS in order to continue the development of our products advancing biological research.
Our Ops Team provides a central infrastructure which is ideal for our developers. This includes a state-of-the-art CI/CD pipeline for automated testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery and quality assurance in order to find and fix problems early. Regular round-robin code reviews and trainings mean that you will learn from those around you and have a chance to see what others are working on.
This position is from 30 to 40 hours per week, hybrid office. Pick the arrangement that works best for you.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and further development of existing applications
- Learning new technologies and implementing them to solve problems
- Giving short demonstrations to coworkers and possibly clients
- Providing feedback on the code written by coworkers
- Participating in discussions on how to improve our code and processes
Requirements
- A high level of JavaScript/TypeScript and HTML/CSS proficiency
- Preferably proficient with Python, but at least proficient with another popular programming language
- Confident in a Unix/Linux environment
- Good knowledge of SQL and database theory
- Basic knowledge of at least one common relational database system (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres)
- Experience working with revision control systems such as Git
- Desire to learn from others and share what you know
- Value concise solutions to complicated problems
- Self motivated
- English speaking ability

- Able to speak French at a basic level
