Internship: RF Measurement System Development

Dresden

InternshipDresden (hybrid)

From October 2024, our team in Dresden offers an opportunity for an

Intern: RF Measurement System Development (m/f/x)

The increase of signaling bandwidths in 5G mobile communication systems in combination with the constant demand for higher power efficiency require new methods for RF component design. Successful future designs will depend on wideband measurement methods under realistic conditions. In order to improve repeatability and accuracy of these measurements, we push the boundaries of standard RF instrumentation by adding additional calibration and error correction techniques.

Your Tasks

  • Develop Python scripts to demonstrate measurement concepts
  • Extend the prototype measurement software library with new functionality in C++
  • Measure key parameters of selected RF components with a measurement system prototype in our laboratory

Your Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Student (m/f/x) of Information system technology or Electrical engineering, in the 5th semester or higher
  • Knowledge in signal processing algorithms
  • Experience in at least one of the following programming tools: Python or C/C ++
  • Fluency in English
  • Compulsory internship (duration: from 4 to 6 months)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of RF architectures and measurements
  • Basic skills in result data processing and visualization (e.g., Jupyter/Python)
  • Experience in practical handling of measuring instruments (e.g., Signal Analyzer, Oscilloscope…)
  • Bonus: experience in programming instruments

Your Benefits

Imparted practical expertise:

  • Experience in improving technology day by day
  • Get insights about how the day-to-day business looks like for an engineer
  • Work in an international R&D team

In addition:

  • Challenging and practice-oriented tasks
  • Dedicated support by professional mentors
  • Structured onboarding program
  • Fair compensation
  • Flexible working hours
  • Pleasant working atmosphere
  • Team events and free drinks, fruits, and veggies
