From October 2024, our team in Dresden offers an opportunity for an

Intern: HDL Design for High-Speed Converters (m/f/x)

ADCs and DACs used in the latest RF measurement equipment need a high-speed backend connection to transfer the acquired data. The JESD204 protocol serves this purpose. Recent chips offer support for multiple versions of the protocol. Your task is to change an existing JESD link to a later version of the protocol, under the guidance of an experienced engineer.

Your Tasks

  • Research on required changes
  • Update of an existing JESD204 implementation
  • HDL simulation
  • Bring-up and debug of the data link on real hardware

 

Your Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Student (m/f/x) of Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (from 6th semester)
  • Basic knowledge of VHDL
  • Fluency in English
  • Duration: 3 – 6 months

Additional Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of Python
  • Experience with Xilinx transceivers
  • Development of own “design” on FPGA / CPLD
