Das Zentrum für Drogenhilfe (ZFD) nimmt einen hoheitlichen Auftrag wahr und stellt ein umfassendes Versorgungsnetz für suchtkranke Menschen in Leipzig zur Verfügung. Die Zielgruppen umfassen Menschen, die gefährdet oder abhängig von legalen (Alkohol, Medikamenten, Nikotin) und illegalen (Heroin, chemische Drogen) Drogen bzw. nicht stoffgebundenen Süchten, wie „Spielsucht“ oder „Essstörungen“ sind sowie deren Angehörige. Das Zentrum für Drogenhilfe als Aufgabenfeld der ambulanten Suchtkrankenhilfe ist Bestandteil des Städtischen Klinikums „St. Georg“ Leipzig, einem Eigenbetrieb der Stadt Leipzig.
Es gliedert sich in sechs Suchtberatungs- und -behandlungsstellen an sechs Standorten im Stadtgebiet Leipzig. Integriert sind zwei Notschlafstellen und ein Wohnhaus. Zudem leistet das ZFD Familienhilfe für suchtbelastete Mütter und/oder Väter in ambulanter Form sowie ambulante Nachsorge und ambulante medizinische Rehabilitation.
